(4,483 posts)Bought it in 95, no LCD screen used internal memory that held 48 exposures, around 0.3 megapixels and I think I paid around $700'ish for it.
The next one was a Sony Mavica

(20,886 posts)1.3 MP. I moved up to a Nikon D100, then up to a D300. I also have a 12 MP Nikon point and shoot, my car camera.

(38,958 posts)Had kind of a funny shutter button that worked sometimes, sometimes not so much. Upgraded to an Olympus P&S at 5MP from there and eventually to Canon DSLR.

(60,071 posts)I moved to the S50, then the G10, then my present Olympus EPL-1.
The S50 was a tank!

(19,459 posts)I don't remember the model. I purchased a Sony at one point; but other than that one all my digital cameras have been Canon PowerShot's, until I got my current Nikon D5100.
I guess I should also include the camera on my i-Phone, which I actually use quite a bit.

(10,136 posts)All my film SLR stuff was Minolta. Still have it.
Bought the Nikon D70S in Spring 2006.
Upgraded to the Nikon D200 in Spring 2007.
Gave up waiting for the D400, upgraded to the full-frame D700 in Winter 2011.

(4,483 posts)With my Minolta SRT-101, it's built like a tank and the shutter sounds like you're shutting the door of a 57 Buick, ok it's not the most discreet but we've had a very long satisfying relationship.

(4,741 posts)Saved for months to get it. Something like 100k shots later, it finally succumbed to the dreaded CF errors...I was going to keep it for tethered work, but that seemed kind of pointless. I tried taking it apart to remove the IR filter, but while the instructions were pretty clear (and clear that it's a very fiddly task), my fat fingers just weren't up to it. RIP.

(14,889 posts)It's a nice little portable camera and I still use it when it's not "appropriate" to use my other Canon for the situation.

(4,741 posts)493x373 - with a PCMCIA memory expansion slot and a rear LCD! I paid a good premium over the DC20 for that crappy little screen. No zoom, or flash, or white balance, or quality levels, or JPEG support, or self-timer, or pretty much anything besides "push button take picture".
Man, did I think it was state of the art...if I had seen my current low-end DSLR (5100) back then I think I would have wet myself.

(46,436 posts)and then once I had a clue what I was doing (since I had not been a film photographer and didn't know an f/stop from a hole in the ground), a Canon 20D. I still have Canons; I stick with what I know.
