You always do so well with the portraits of people at events. These are no exception.

I also went to the flicker site to see the others. Twice.
You had a very good day Alfredo. On this thread, though they are all wonderful, I like 4 and 8 the best.
Thanks for these - very much.

I don't have many opportunities to speak with people other than my wife. So I overdid it yesterday. I lost my voice, and now have a bit of a sore throat. That's fine. It was worth it.

The best part of a parade isn't the parade, it is the crowd.

I saw a Fuji X-E1 there. What a lovely camera.

Alfredo engaged these people. He was working hard to come home with such beautiful memories.

11. It's the salesman in me. First you sell yourself, then the product.

Compliments, friendly chatter, jokes, all work to gain their confidence. A young Indian girl asked me where I got my beads, so I gave her mine. She was so thrilled she hugged me, so I asked for a photograph. It came out blurred.

If you want something (a photo), you have to give something. A smile is enough in many cases.

I think the longer focal length allowed some space between the subject and myself. I think that put them at ease.

...my favorites are shots 1 (in color) and 2 (in B&W) -- although truly there are some great ones in this group.

I don't really photograph people, don't know why. But I do admire those who can do it well.

I told the old woman I liked her tam. That broke the ice. I then asked if I could do a portrait of her and she said yes.

Black and white is where I started, and is still my first love. I'm glad you like my photos.
