Ok I know I'm normally a rock girl but I have to confess I love Madonna. Not sure of her recent stuff. Sure I got a copy of "MDNA", which is her most recent release. It's a good album but it's nothing like the Madonna of 20 years ago when she actually *gasp* sang the songs.
I'm actually excited though because I did get Madonna tickets this year. She's always put on great performances and it's one I'd like to see once in my lifetime but the concert isn't until late August.
I'm also excited because FINALLY they are releasing 'Truth or Dare' on Blue Ray. This video has been a very rare find which I don't know why because it's a great documentary/concert film of what is probably Madonna's greatest world tour - the Blonde Ambition tour.
Anyhow my favorite Madonna has always been "Like a Prayer" with some of her greatest dance hits including "Like a Prayer", "Express Yourself (the original version of Lady GaGa's "Born this Way" and probably the best dance song of all time - "Vogue".
I still remember the big stink when Madonna did the Pepsi commericial based on "Like a Prayer" and basically offended all the uber-religious people out there. I think they aired it once and then dropped it but Madonna still got her million dollar paycheck.

Best dance song ever!!!
D'uh! I keep forgetting Vogue wasn't on "Like a Prayer" but was one of those weird singles that floated out there like Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What can I do".
So for the 2nd "Like a PRayer" here is "Express Yourself"

(82,849 posts)I rather like Madge, but I have to limit her to small doses or everything comes out sounding much the same, only the videos are distintuishable. With that in mind, my fave moment is from her video for "Vogue," near the end when the piano is pounding power chords and the male dancer is shown in various "vogue-ish" poses and leaps.

(11,550 posts)I've been a fan of Madonna since I was a child (her debut album was released when I was seven years old), although I haven't really followed her music in recent years. IMHO, she was at her best in the late 1980s and early to mid-1990s. I found the lyrics of the music in her "Like a Prayer" album to be immensely personal, thought-provoking, and empowering.
I always thought it was a shame that the songs "Spanish Eyes" and "Promise to Try" weren't released as singles. They were beautiful songs.
In addition to the videos you posted in the OP, here are two more great videos from this album:
