Add a can of sardines, and mash it all together! I was fed this once and ate it, because hunger can make you eat strange things.

(3 of us spent a day on a sailboat, no one bothered to bring any food, the beans and sardines were the only food on the boat)

I know I would never eat that combo with the beans again. I really don't like baked beans, either. I remember from my childhood our traditional Saturday night supper...Hot dogs and beans! Every Saturday! But I remember it tasted good because we were hungry.

I've eaten kippered herring before and it's OK. The red pepper garlic sauce really helps!

If I'm not in a real hurry, pancakes or a waffle. I love breakfast all day long.

But I have also consumed plenty of beans from a can.

The spinach and mushrooms are cooked in light olive oil and seasoned with garlic. Then I top it off with wasabi furikake.

I want some right now!

If I have some fresh veggies on hand I'll make a frittata.

Also tuna salad with green apples and pecans.
