(16,190 posts)I've been wondering what I could add to the last few job hunt related posts that you made, but I didn't have anything of value so I kept quiet.

Employers notice the degree. NOT what it was in. It shows you have what it takes to get through four years of school.
Hang in there. You'll find your niche. Also, dress really well for the interview. That counts.

(53,339 posts)Spent may years being a pipelayer, then supervising a pipelaying crew.
While working, he went back to school and eventually was credentialed in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
He is also a VN vet, and his credential and experience led to his being hired as a PTSD counselor at a VA Vet Center. After years there he left and is now in private practice, with a lot of veteran (all eras) and family clients.
From the blue collar roughneck culture of his job he sought higher education and succeeded in reaching his goal. I was an officer in the military and he was enlisted, but I look up to him.
