(28,941 posts)Looking forward to Season 3. I'm really impressed with the attention to detail with the clothing and settings. Plus, Eva Green, that woman is one hellva of an actor.

(5,504 posts)seen 2 episodes... but it seems like a GREAT cast. One thing.... whoever the guy was who played
Proteus and got killed in 2nd ep. is haunting to me for some reason. I can't stop thinking about him.
His eyes..his mannerisms...chilling.

I only saw 2 episodes of Penny Dreadful, but I was disappointed when he was killed.

(5,504 posts)Do you watch The Last Ship?
I'm assuming from your screen name that you have a Military/Police background of some sort?
Perhaps I'm wrong.

Great actors, though. I don't think they could have come this far without good actors in those roles.

(5,504 posts)tone down the gore a bit....I thinks it detracts from the EXCELLENT acting. Do check it out.

(38,000 posts)wait until episode 5. If that one doesn't grab you, then there's no hope.

(16,190 posts)after the plague ship. I didn't mean to imply that I don't like it - I do, it just didn't catch with me. For example, even though I'm not a huge Batman or crime drama fan, Gotham hooked me and I binge watched it.

(38,000 posts)I appreciate that during that a particular scene the actors "went for it". Ultimately my favorite male characters are The Creature and Mr. Lyle, the Egyptologist. Eva Green is a damned revelation.
