As part of my mid-life crisis I joined a gym and started using MyFitnessPal app and finding exercises to add in the app is a pain.
Is this elliptical?

(8,217 posts)I have no idea.
I don't go to the gym. My gym is at home with my workout programs.

(53 posts)It's evil, but I would rather do a half hour on it than 10 minutes on the treadmill.

(9,002 posts)and I stepped up my game. Did the treadmill for an hour alternating between running and brisk walking. Day 1 was just walking as it was my first time on the damn thing and couldn't figure out all the buttons so just used it on manual.
I want to attack the elliptical next.
Thank you for identifying it for me.

(958 posts)It has entertainment features of a reading rack and it is iPhone compatible.
It also weighs 422 pounds so if you get tired of pumping the steps and hand grips, you could use it as free weights.

(20,176 posts)If you're looking for a fast high-impact workout...it's the second-best choice. You'll burn more calories faster doing that than just about anything else. It's much easier on the joints than anything else.
The only thing better in terms of impact is an incline trainer because it's like having to run up a steep, never-ending hill...it burns about 4x more calories than even the elliptical machine in the same time. However, using one feels utterly Sisyphean.

(1,681 posts)I look like I was playing in a fire hydrant when I step off it 40 minutes later. The best part is, I'm not breathing heavy, my knees/feet aren't in pain. It's a damn good machine.
I set it to my age/weight/length of time and off I go.
