A big CONGRATS to Yazemeenah! She didn't start modeling until she was 47, and her career is better than ever. It's never too late to do the things that you love!

(31,935 posts)she actually TRIES to look her age (because she's proud of it) in many of her photos and wasn't wearing makeup in the shoot above, but these are more standard modelling photos:

(31,935 posts)Y has a very positive attitude and one of those blinding smiles. I doubt that she's at all ageist in her dating choices, but they tend to pair her up with much younger men on her shoots, so that's who she meets.
She's also an incredible photographer in her own right, and has had several gallery exhibitions.http://www.yazemeenah.com/YAZEMEENAH/PHOTOGRAPHY_main_page.html
I saw that. Your friend. Wow, she is so *beautiful*!!!

(31,935 posts)as a Jedi. There are plenty of older male Jedi, why not an older female Jedi? Her name was originally "Yasmina Rossi" , but for years I used her photos in one of my character design classes as an assignment for my students to design a Jedi named "Yaz Meenah". Her kids used to call her a Jedi all the time, and when she was a kid, her Grandmother in Corsica would call her "Yazemeena". So when I told her about my student's assignment just as she was trying to audition for "The Force Awakens" a couple of years ago. She saw it as a sign and changed her name!
Anyway, I have another friend, Iain McCaig, who did a lot of visual development on the last Star Wars series and now this one. He's the person who convinced them to use Natalie Portman for the prequels, so I'm hoping that he can do the same for Y. He'll try, anyway!
