it is delicious. I get this at a farm store every time I come back from the cemetery where my Dad is buried. I went to the cemetery this past Friday for Wreaths Across America and stopped for this sandwich.

Except for the rye bread, white bread is the standard for them.

Although the "canonical" one is Black Forest ham, Gruyere, with Dijon mustard, on a Pullman type bread. James Beard introduced the bit about covering them with Bechamel in the '60's.
