Personally I think she should have won ages ago. She is such a talented actress and one of those women who looks absolutely stunning as she ages probably because she doesn't mess with her face at all.
I was a fan of hers back when she was Frannie on 'As the World Turns'. Moore has been doing such great work for the last 30 years and nominated so many times yet overlooked again and again. She was robbed the year she was nominated Best Supporting Actress for 'Boogie Night' (can't even remember who won that year but probably no one as memorable as Moore).
Congrats again to Julianne Moore for finally winning one. I haven't seen this movie yet but do want to see it!

(95,337 posts)She's also a great female role model. I know she's has been a speaker at several important rallies including the March for Choice back in April 2004.
She is so fricking stunning and she's in her 50s. And she is proof positive that you don't have to mess up your face with surgery, lip injections and botox to look stuning!

(46,703 posts)I did notice a one degree connection that is common to Hollywood. Moore took the Claris role from Jodie Foster in the Silence of the Lambs sequel and Kristen Stewart was the supporting actress in the Still Alice movie. Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart both played in Panic Room.
Write it down. I'm sure it will become a question on Trivia.
