(2,672 posts)10/25/2014: Former Cream musician Jack Bruce died at the age of 71. The Scottish bass player suffered from liver failure. His family released a statement saying, "It is with great sadness that we, Jacks family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts." According to a post on Bruce's Facebook page, he was surround by his family at the time of his passing.
Bruce released many memorable classic rock songs such as "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room," and "SWLABR." alongside Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker as Cream, and released 14 solo albums as well. Prior to his work with Cream, Bruce performed with Charlie Watts, who went on to join The Rolling Stones.
10/4/2014: Paul Revere The leader of legendary 1960s rock band Paul Revere and the Raiders died at his home in Idaho at the age of 76. Born Paul Revere Dick, he led the band which often wore three-cornered hats and other American Revolution-era clothing during performances.
Born in Nebraska, Revere also performed with bands in Idaho and Oregon, before the Raiders were signed with CBS/Columbia Records. They had a number of hits in the 60s and 70s including "Hungry" and "Indian Reservation." He was fondly known as the "madman of rock 'n roll."
The cause of death was not released, but Roger Hart, an early manager of the band, stated that Revere died "peacefully.
7/16/2014: Legendary guitarist Johnny Winter died in Europe while on tour. He's known for his work on"Highway 61 Revisited," "Johnny B. Goode" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash" in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.
Plus a lot of other notable musicians died in 2014.

Her big hit with the Divinyls, "I touch Myself" has been remade by others according to her wishes as a theme for breast cancer awareness that took her life, to help promote early detection and fight this terrible disease that I'm sure took many of the lives of those on this page. This article features this remake that has been made in to a PSA last year.
