when a dude was watching Hitler on TV and HItler morphed into a
werewolf or something similar.
What was the deal with that?

(13,447 posts)And only the main charater knows. So I took it to mean that Hitler was one of these fairy tale creatures.

I don't know if you remember the Genii episode of X-files. It was similar to that.

(12,132 posts)but yeah, he was one of the fairy-tale creatures. Regular humans don't see the creature side of people but the main character is a Grimm so he does.
Now my wife was all "WTF? He can't see creatures in a movie!" but i guess he could since he did...

(30,736 posts)Monroe, his blutbad friend, about this one. Monroe knows a lot about the creature world. Maybe Monroe already knows about Hitler, or other famous creatures from history.

(18,490 posts)The main character could see it because Grimms, of which he is "one of the last," can see Blutbaden in their true (not-human) forms. It apparently works when a Grimm is viewing archival film as well.

(5,376 posts)It's filmed in Portland, OR, not far from me, so it's fun to see all the familiar scenes and locations. They also hire a lot of local extras, which I also love. Yep, I was a bit shocked when the film Grimm was watching showed Hitler morphing into that purely evil creature. Could explain a lot!
Looking forward to next week's finale. Definitely hope it stays in production, cause it keeps getting better!
