As you all know mine was Davy Jones of the Monkees. Actually I floated between him and Engelbert Humperdinck (wipe away that judgemental smirk - I was 6, what the hell did I know??))
Who was your biggest crush when you were 6 years old - CONFESS!!!

(5,909 posts)Then when I entered junior high I was all into "The Outsiders"---I would by Superteen, Tigerbeat and would plaster the posters all over my wall. My fave was C. Thomas Howell---yeah his career really took off after that movie. I think I saw it 5 times at theater.

(21,020 posts)Long before Davy Jones and Englebert Humperdoink, so my very first crush was a boy in my class (whom I had a crush on in Kindergarten, at the age of five) with big brown eyes and black hair.
His initials and my initials were the reverse of each other, and so, at a young age, I thought this was a sign we were meant to be together...
Unfortunately, he didn't feel the same way, and so I pined away for the next four years until my family moved to another part of the city and I was in a different school.
Then, at the age of 10 or so, I had a new crush...
Paul McCartney!!!
He shared a spot in my heart along with Perry Como for a while...

(15,220 posts)I am obviously much older than previous posters, but *I* had a major crush on the two actors who played Texas Rangers in the television series "Laredo".
Peter Brown ("Chad" and William Smith ("Joe" .
And I had a vivid imagination, even at the age of six!!! LOL

Yes, I know that he was not real. I didn't like boys yet, but I loved Howdy Doody.

Oddly enough I can't stand mustaches on men. I don't mind a lil stubble there but a full blown stache doesn't do it for me.

(12,153 posts)Maybe it wasnt a crush, but I was fascinated by him. I dont know the name of the movie or what it was about, but he played Ruth Romans husband in it. Her lover didnt know she was married and asked Lee J. Cobb, whom he thought was her father, for her hand in marriage. Lee J. said, Shes not my daughter! Shes my wife! (((echo echo echo))) I thought Lee J. Cobb was way more attractive than her lover.

When I got a little older, I threw 'em both over for Shaun Cassidy. I was fickle.

(54,256 posts)She lived next door.
We were in love by the first grade.
My last name started with 'L', so we sat next to each other in class.
(We were seated alphabetically.)
The teacher had to separate us to keep us from kissing each other.
The summer after first grade we were in our bathing suits playing in the sprinkler in my back yard.
We decided to play 'Tarzan and Jane'.
Kind of like playing 'doctor' and it turned into a flesh pile.
Granny called me into the house and sent Lucy home.

(4,056 posts)I used to chase him around the school, and he'd run away from me screaming "Cooties!" First time I ever learned what that meant.
By the time our class went into 4th grade, Mark was held back, so I lost touch with him for a long time. Then, we met up in high school, and I realized why they didn't let him advance--he was totally not linear, he was visual and artistic and lived in a dream world, feet barely touching the ground. We ended up in choir together, when we were both 16, and he sang like Church bells. Just a beautiful baritone.
We became friends, went out on a few friendly dates (no more cooties) but I always knew he wouldn't get serious about me. Later on, I left our little suburban hamlet for London England, and he ran away to New York to become a star on Broadway. We lost touch, but I always thought about him. And by my mid-twenties, I understood that he was gay--like so many of my subsequent crushes!!! I guess I had a thing for artistic, visual men when I was growing up.
So life went on. Then my BFF who kept vowing she would call Mark on his birthday, finally made good on her promise about 15 years ago. She called his father at his old childhood home, and Mark's dad broke down bawling. "My son died of AIDS two years ago," he told my friend. "I've been trying to get through today. Please tell his old friends not to call here anymore."
Devastating. And a cautionary tale: life is too short, don't wait to contact those you love and have lost touch with. My first crush was a talented, sweet soul, who had a big open heart and loved me despite my cooties. I still miss him to this day.
