The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy niece got married today. During the wedding, someone stole her money out of her purse.
I mean, what the fuck?
How LOW do you have to be to do that, to be one of the guests at a wedding and steal all of the money out of the bride's purse?
I was there taking photos...everyone was so happy, and the day ended with this.
This is when you trust in Karma.

(35,662 posts)happened to a friend of mine, only it was Grandma's birthday. $90 was stolen.
It happened again.
Then, a few years later, when the family thief was in another country, Grandma got a kidnapping call. Someone tried to hoax her out of $2000 to "save" her grandson.
Grandma thought $2 grand was a steal, so she didn't bite.
So if this experience is any indicator, you might look forward to similar such incidents in the future.

(18,837 posts)I don;t know how strict the "invitation only" thing was...my guess is that people were invited but I know people also just showed up. So here's hoping they took the money and ran and that's the end of it.

(28,463 posts)It didn't have to be a guest, necessarily. Or, perhaps there's a junkie/gambling addict in one of the families and they stole the cash. It happens even in the nicest families.
