I worked in construction and the only thing that rained on me where spiders.

(20,491 posts)You see, I would throw it in my truck, yell "All of y'all can kiss my ass!!!" and THEN leave.
(admit it, you thought i was going to chastise you, didn't you?)

(12,272 posts)Great series about a gold mining town. At a Hearst owned mine, the miners were showered to gather the gold they had rubbed into the grease in their hair and strip searched to gather the gold nuggets they had stuck up their butt. My point is, you get in your truck with that gold, you have to keep going, because they would track you down.

(12,272 posts)Even if no one else heard or saw it fall, you couldn't gather it all up, you took off like a bat out of hell. They would've figured it out.

(35,699 posts)a sack of gold on a bicycle. And of course there are the questions, why did you leave in the middle of the day and leave a big hole in the ceiling? You could bash the side of your face with the crowbar and bleed a little to cover your tracks, I suppose. And then claim workman's comp.

(6,581 posts)She had completely forgotten she had hidden it in there. She asked me to go down to the basement and try to find a skein of a certain color. Tucked up inside of it was her bankroll. She was pleasantly surprised to suddenly have an extra $600 that month. This was after my father died, she used to hide cash once in a while because he just wanted to blow it, he was the spender and she was the saver. If all of the "grocery money" for the month was gone, he couldn't blow it on something he didn't really need, so she made sure some of it disappeared every once in a while.
