should we see? I wanted to see STAR TREK, but it is only showing in the early afternoon.

(10,952 posts)I really loved it. Movies with traditional big special effects are kind of a dime a dozen. No You See Me really reels you in as you try to figure out what is really going on and who is behind everything.

(22,298 posts)however, I thought the ending was weak. It does, however, keep you guessing!

(46,179 posts)I'd go with the first.
I can avoid crowds easily on the 4th, since I live well out of town. My son has required my presence at his house, though, so I'll spend part of the evening there. I begged off staying for fireworks; he can see the local show from his back yard. First, it won't be dark enough to start until 10:00, and that's past my bedtime. I'm generally up between 4:30 and 5:30, even on days I don't have to work. Then, if I leave early, I'll get ahead of the mass exodus and traffic jam that took me almost 90 minutes to negotiate last year; it's a 25 minute drive home.
Tell us if whatever you choose turns out to be worth the trip.

(11,012 posts)however, from the trailer, I get the impression that I might as well rent Porkey's. I'm no snob, but Iprefer a bit more sophistication in a movie. There isn't much playing in our local multiplex July 4. The ones I listed were the top three, and I would probably pass on all three if it were not a family tradition to go then.
I'd go for something like THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, but sadly, nothing like that is playing.

(37,648 posts)I saw "Now You See It." Didn't think it was very good. It shoulda been. But it wasn't.
Lone Ranger should be good, but it will be crowded. It's the opening weekend.
White House Down is cliche'. I recently saw a movie with Gerard Butler that sounded EXACTLY like White House Down. And it was exactly like the Die Hard movies with Bruce Willis (except not nearly as good...Bruce Willis wasn't in it, for one thing).
