p.s. You're just asking out if general interest, right? You're not making any plans, are you? I wanna be sure you're taking care of yourself.

I just want folks to go out somewhere and get shitfaced in my honor. They can play whatever tunes they want, as long as none of them are "Amazing Grace" or any other church music.

Assuming people go against my wishes and have a funeral. Of course, I'll be dead so it won't matter to me anyway.

1. "1812 Overture" with mini fireworks coming out of the casket on the cannon booms.

or

2. "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin (on CD, of course) with a guy there to bang on a flaming gong the way John Bonham did at the concert at MSG in 1973.

I'd as soon my wife put me curbside Tuesday morning, but, as she informed me, "funerals are about the living", so

"Is that all there is?" by Peggy Lee.

Sometimes I want Siegfried's Funeral from Wagner's Ring Cycle, but it might be a bit too bombastic.

I won't have a funeral, but have enough CDs to send a copy of this song to each of my good friends, and ask them to play it in my memory. I just love it.

HIGHLY raucous brass street bands;

30. Farewell and Goodnight

Goodnight, to every little hour that you
Sleep tight, may it hold you through the winter of a
Long night, and keep you from the loneliness of yourself

Heart strung, is your heart frayed and empty cause it's
Hard luck, when no one understands your love it's
Unsung, and I say

Goodnight, my love, to every hour in every day
Goodnight, always, to all that's pure that's in your heart

Goodnight, may your dreams be so happy and your
Head light, with the wishes of a sandman and a
Night light, be careful not to let the bedbugs
Sleep tight, nestled in your covers

The sun shines but I don't
A silver rain will wash away

The sun shines but I don't
A silver rain will wash away

And you can tell, it's just as well
And you can tell, it's just as well

Goodnight, my love, to every hour in every day
Goodnight, always to all that's pure that's in your heart

I don't even like country music all that much, but Garth puts every ounce of emotion he has into that tune. It was played at my grandfather's funeral and it was perfect.

I already have a deal w/ a HS marching band to play Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever." The funeral to be held in the gym, party hats passed out, and a professional comedian to perform the services. Furthermore, I want a clown. I also wanted strippers, but I was informed that I could either have the high school gym OR the strippers -- which I think is bullshit -- so I went with the gym. I've also got a couple of people lined up to throw themselves at the coffin and beg God not to take me.
