1. Backwoodsbob, you would look really good sitting in

...the chair at the Chevy dealer, signing the loan documents for that very car car, then handing me the keys.

2. Meh - I'd give it 8/10.

Not crazy about the many creases/angles across the hood or the angular tail lights, but overall it's pretty good. I noticed that there wasn't any info about slush mats, which is pretty disappointing.

8. It looks nicer than anything Europe or Japan has to offer.

I'm not big on the interior styling but the body is sweet. And I'll assume it can blow the doors off of damn near anything other than a Mustang Cobra.

3. I am totally surprised by the amount of work the man said they put into this new Vette.

It is truly hard to believe that they worked at making an interior so ugly.

I have seen some really screwed up interiors, but this one wins by a mile.

Ugly, ugly, ugly, and the exterior is not much better unless you are in love with European style.

5. I'd give it a meh.

And it would be cool to see Top Gear do a good amount of testing with it.

6. Where I live in FL

the Corvette seems to be the favored car of old men who have forgotten how to drive! It just breaks your heart, I tell you. I always want to save...get out, take the passenger seat...I'll show you how to do this!

7. Any idea what the sticker is on one of those? I like the 8-plant they put in it.

9. I believe I read the bottom of the line

entry level model is a hair over 50k.

The top of the line Camaro is right at the same price.

10. One of my neighbors has a top-end Camero. Another has a top-end Charger.

The guy down the street has a two or three year old Vette that he keeps covered and the guy on the other side of the street from him has a top-end Cobra. The guy behind me had a Viper. I'm not sure why he got rid of it. Those are DAMN nice cars!!!

I don't have the money for any of those, but I do own my house outright so I can at least afford groceries. If I had the money, I'd get my wife a Cobra. She'd have to learn to drive a stick, but hey, she's a 3rd degree black belt. I think she can handle it.

I honestly don't know where the people in my neighborhood got their money. We've got a 20 year old station wagon and a 13 year old minivan. I had to sink about $5K into them (combined) six months ago, but they're in excellent shape now. We'll get another decade or so out of them. I don't discard anything if it is still useful.

I take steel cans, aluminum, copper, brass, and anything else I can scavenge over to the metal recycling facility. I score a few bucks (brass is the best). The main point is that it shouldn't end up in an incinerator or landfill. The money covers gas to get there and back.

This isn't a "rich" sort of neighborhood. Three or four room houses with garages. Your basic suburb development. The 20 year old car sat for two years before I could afford to get her inspection ready. If I had a mortgage payment I wouldn't have a house and would be out on the street. I'd still like to get my wife a Cobra. She's always wanted one - red.

I'm basically a Ford guy, but the minivan is a Pontiac (with a kick-ass engine). I like the look of the Vette. The interior is questionable, but I bet it's a nice ride. I blow off low-rider go-cart things with the silly spoilers on the back once in a while (with the minivan - damn does that piss them off). Other than that, I really don't do more than warp 7 very often.

My Galaxie class starship was well up over 130 once. The owner's manual says not to do more than 70 in first gear. I often shifted into second at 75 or more blowing off Cameros and such. Then again, I also broke a SHITLOAD of motor mounts, and that's after having them install the cop mounts. She kicks some serious ass! I still have her but she needs a tranny and frame work to get back on the road. Again, no money. (Sigh)
