OK, my mother used to have this wonderful counter-top thing; she used it to do all sorts of things: make pancakes, cook stews, saute veggies ...
It had 4 legs, raised about 2 inches off the countertop, and was square, and the sides of the thing were about 3 inches high all around so it could hold liquids; it also had a lid. And had a temperature gauge on the side.
It was used almost every day in our house during the 70s-80s.
For the life of me, I can't remember what it was called and it's driving me crazy. It seemed indispensable ...
Any ideas?

(2,593 posts)Love it! I have a new stainless steel gas range and I hate to clean it.....so, I use the electric frying pan for cooking foods that splatter. It sure saves time and effort keeping the range clean.

(12,132 posts)from riding my tricycle into the kitchen and running into the electric skillet my mom was frying chicken in. I was 3 and I remember it clearly. It spilled in my lap and I used to have scars going up one leg to my chest and back down the other leg.
It's a REALLY good thing I hadn't started my running around the house naked phase yet.
