that my two male goats made before they were neutered and they got all horny. They made the strangest noises. Still do on occasion just like that and they walk around with their tongues hanging out.

I don't know if that is what was going on here but just reading your post I thought of that right away.

Goats are wonderful creatures

When he was castrated, they must've left a little bit of gonad in him, because when the goatie girls go into heat, he barks like a dog, clucks like a chicken and goes "Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo."

Goats ARE wonderful creatures.

I am not sure they ever forget that. Mine were Billies until they were a little over a year, it was a mess but they don't forget. I wonder if the little female that a neighbor has causes them to get so rutty sometimes. Hmmmm. They sure do make some funny noises. Once I was making a noise, kinda like that clucking noise and they came after me. Mine are little goats so it was not a big deal.

I LOVE my goats, like my dogs and cats. I walk them and sing in the pastures from the Sound of Music, lol.

Naturally, I sing them (I have 9 -- two angoras, six pygoras and a saanen) the Goat Herding Song from the Sound of Music (this is the chickens' favorite tune, btw), but they like ballads from Dreamgirls, Carousel and A Chorus Line, too.

maybe only a couple of us in it but I bet we could talk up a storm!

My husband sings to them at night when he feeds and he swears they get dreamy eyed and more cuddly.

I take a lot of songs, put their names in them and they love it. Mostly classical. How many goats do you know who have their own personal song by Carl Reinecke lol?

Chickens are going to be next, I keep saying that and a little burro to watch over the goats

I have a license plate thingy that says I Love My Goats on the top and on the bottom it says Goats Are Great

And now I should stop talking. Maybe we could start a thread in the Rural group. I will start one some day.
