Years ago I had a bad case of it, and Sears cured me. The Rapid City Sears store had about 10 word processors set up for demo, to let customers try them out. On the first one I typed the first couple paragraphs of a short short story I’d been trying to write but had never gotten past those first two paragraphs. I went to the second wp and started typing whatever came into my head that I thought would move the story forward, and by the time I’d used all 10 or so word processors, I’d written my story.

I got a huge kick out of seeing a handful of people going down the row of word processors and reading my story.

I went home and developed the story further and submitted it to an e-zine. It was accepted.
