OK, so what's for dinner this election night?

I think I'll run out for some Chinese.

3. Off the healthy diet for chili dogs!

One way or the other, I'm breaking from broiled fish and steamed vegetables for chili dogs with beans and coleslaw. It's a statement meal. Not sure what it says, but it satisfies a craving, and tonight's the right night.

5. I think I'll make open-faced ham sandwiches.

Easy and awesome.

It's either that or we're eating ice cream, 'cause there's no way in hell I'm spending more than 15 minutes in the kitchen.

32. In Germany, we got open-faced ham sandwiches on black bread with a thick layer of butter...

.
.
.
... and a good dill pickle spear.
.
.
.
You'd think mustard would be missed. No.
.
Sometimes I do add Swiss cheese to them.
.
.
.
I like Black Forest ham -- if unavailable, Tavern ham.

35. Has to be Black Forest.

The black bread sounds awesome, but the husband wouldn't eat it.

Mine are simple. Kaiser or some other hard roll, Black Forest ham, green onions or chives, tomato and a thin slice of sharp cheddar. For dipping: mayo with a little dijon mustard and a dash of basil and a pinch of sugar. My husband is addicted to them.

39. We had Italian beef

in one of the restaurants in McCormick Place. Then, we went in and stood for five hours, waiting to see and hear the President's victory speech. It was great to be there as a guest, even though it was hard to stand on that concrete floor for all those hours.

Yay for our side!!!!

40. Pizza from Galactic Pizza

http://www.galacticpizza.com/

They deliver it in electric cars and take your old boxes to compost (and the boxes work like $1 coupon!)

And this for desert:
hemp brownie -
Rich chocolate brownies with a hemp explosion. The chocolate might give you a buzz, but the hemp won’t.
