Today at the mall I saw someone texting run into a post by the food court.

First off there are table and chairs to look out for.

This guy nearly knocked himself out, he was walking fast.

Mall security was called, along with EMT's from the Fire Department.

This guy was so busy texting he didn't see the post coming.

I hope the text he was reading or texting was worth it.

He really did need to go to the hospital.

Nothing wrong with texting but just watch where you walk.

I see this happening downtown with people crossing at the lights.

I think the guy has a broken nose, it was bleeding.

Driving is difficult enough as it was.

Need to start writing tickets for this.

If it is that important pull over.

He was in a hurry.

He hit the post really hard, then went backwards and went down.

His head hit the floor.

There was retired nurse eating at the food court, so she came to the rescue.

The EMT's came really fast, and took him away.

I was just trying to get a Subway Sandwich.

He just slammed into that post.

This is a big post, at least 3 feet wide.

longer than a 23 hr admit. Maybe if he was in a coma? Otherwise, they patched him up and told him to hit the bricks! He probably went straight out and bought another smart phone.

He hit the post really hard, bounced off and hit the floor.

I didn't know a nose could bleed that much.

That whole area of the food court was blocked off for cleaning.

We don't do texting, but I get messages from T-Mobile (usually "YOUR BILL IS FUCKING LATE AGAIN!&quot so that's not a problem. With calls, unfortunately I am waiting for them sometimes. If it's urgent, I'll answer to say "I have to park. Call right back" and hang up. Then park.

I will pull over before talking on the phone.

I had a big fight with T-mobile over a bill I paid over the phone.

I raised hell about it.

Got a new phone for free, a nice one.

Also unlimited everything including texting, but I blocked that.

I pay the phone bill at a T-mobile store on the last day it is due now.

My contract is almost over, I will not renew it.

A broken nose is awful. The pride factor alone is enormous. Oh, the indignity.

OTOH, that sounds like supreme slapstick comedy. Poor guy. (stifles a snicker)

Try explaining to someone that you broke your nose walking into a 3 ft. wide post while texting.

He bleed a lot.

The way his head hit the floor he will have a headache also.

I pity anyone with a concussion headache. The light hurts your eyes like a migraine. And they won't let you fall asleep when that is all you want to do.
I so don't think the injury is in any way funny, but if was captured on video, AFV, has $10,0000, toward hospital bills.

He wasn't really awake.

The EMT's didn't waste anytime taking him the hospital.

After the last concussion I had I slept for almost 14 hours. Not that it really helped as I looked so bad two days later on Monday that my coworker took one look and asked if I should be at work and I had concussion symptoms for a month.

I used to live near a big mall that had a Hooters in it. I liked the girls, mostly University kids, and the food actually isn't all that bad. Right out front was a big lamp post, part of the decor for the rest of the mall. We'd sit there and laugh at all the people walking buy staring at the girls and running smack into the lamp post.

... I walked dead-on into a parking meter, which hit me dead-center in the chest
and stopped me COLD!!!
.
Though it didn't hurt really, I was mentally STUNNED -- it took me a couple of
seconds to realize what had just happened. My friend, realizing that I was OK,
laughed hysterically.
.
It was definitely an abrupt "awakening".

for my lack of sympathy.

He got injured doing something stupid.

He's lucky he didn't injure an innocent person as well.

I sincerely hope he doesn't text while driving too.

If he's smarter than he seems, he'll learn from this. If not, he may just end up injuring or killing someone someday.
