A Christmas Story aims to open on BROADWAY!

Producers are looking for actors, singers and dancers who stand no more than 4-foot-11 to fill the shoes of Ralphie and his friends as they prepare a musical version of the classic film "A Christmas Story" for Broadway.

Performances begin Nov. 6 in New York with an opening night set for Nov. 19. The musical spent much of last year on a national tour.

Although anybody who can play the part should get a crack at it.

But I know back in Nashville, the guy they have had playing Ralphie in the stage version (two years running!) is 46 years old, about 5'8, and I'd say about 225 pounds. He's freaking hysterical in the role, especially in the bunny pajamas.

The group that did it in Nashville is the local Equity house. They don't have the cash to repeat shows that don't work. So a musical of this seems to be a cinch.
