The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy daughters are fighting over the cats.
They've been sleeping with my older one.
She came into the living room yesterday on the brink of tears and cried, "Abby's stealing my cat!"
I tore myself away from GD for a moment and said, "wut?"
"She's been giving them treats so they'll stay with her, not me!" Then the tears came.
So I got up, walked down the hall and, sure enough, the cats had relocated to her bed. I'll be damned, that was clever. I told Laura that nobody can control a cat and they'll be back.
That was that. Back to GD.
Tonight I heard more yelling down the hall. Now it's Abby yelling at Laura and Laura, cat treat in hand, yelling back.
I looked at the cats. As God is my witness, I didn't know cats can wink.
I'm going back to GD.

(82,333 posts)After we got the pound cat, we had to go back and get another so they wouldn't fight over it. That's why she called it her cat. She's got these crypto-republican notions about ownership of living things.
I won't even get into their mother's cat, who despises everybody and sleeps in the litter box.

(205,337 posts)My cousin has two little girls and five cats. Each one has a favorite cat that she sleeps with...
In any case, looks like the cats are the winners here. I truly believe cats can wink...
