Papantonio: The Web of Tort Reform

For decades, front groups for corporate America have been trying to sell us the idea that we need tort reform. It’s a catchy phrase, but what it really means is that corporations want to take away the right of American citizens to take a company to court when they make a product that maims, kills, or disfigures consumers. THAT is what tort reform really means. And this effort that was started almost 4 decades ago is still going strong today, and Mike Papantonio recently spoke with Linda Lipsen, the CEO of the American Association for Justice, about the corporate front groups that are pushing tort reform across the country.

I am listening now to KJFK's Saturday night presentation of Ring of Fire (which is 9 to midnight PT in addition to the regular noon to 3). This video is just a 9-minute highlight of a 2-segment (~15 minutes) interiew. Also it seems that Ring of Fire is recorded midweek for the weekend which is why Ring of Fire's first hour news commentary seems to cover what happened the week before the weekend.
