Related: About this forumTweety: Gingrich's Fox News Appearances Helping Him In 2012 Race
Gingrich, who has become the frontrunner in the Republican presidential race, was a paid analyst for Fox News for years before the network severed ties with him in May.
Matthews, who has reveled in rather extreme characterizations of Gingrich, confined himself to a more restrained analysis of the man's relationship to Fox News viewers. After playing a clip of Gingrich on the network, he said, "he doesn't have to fight with anybody in particular, just speak his intellectual firepower there."
Matthews theorized that "hard-working guys and women come home in Iowa and places like that after they go to work, they don't watch entertainment shows, 'American Idol,' they watch the hard-nosed, right-wing stuff. Newt's on as one of their advisors. That's pretty intimate."

(30,885 posts)Tweety just cannot contain his crushes on arrogant, fake-macho politicians.
MSNBC had someone on today...I failed to pay attention to who it was because I was working on the computer, listening to it as "background noise," and just giving the occasional side glance. But this dweeb was saying that if Obama and Gingrich get to the point of debate, it will be evident "in a matter of minutes" who's the "smartest guy in the room" (HINT: he was not talking about out President).
I don't see a genius, I just see an arrogant asshole who's having a major laugh over the attention and his ascension up the ladder.
But you know what they say about "the higher they climb..."
