She's just truly lovely. Elegant, classy, tasteful, a shining light of grace and charm - FABULOUS as an ambassador of the U.S. And make no mistake, the First Lady and the President, too, are also, among their many responsibilities, ambassadors representing this country to the world whenever they step outside our geographical boundaries. Hell, anymore, with the international extension of the media and internet, you don't even need to step outside the border to be a representative of your country.

But Michelle Obama takes it to a whole 'nother level that's simply sublime. We are extremely well-served. THAT is the face of The American Woman to the world. And that makes me VERY proud!

On another matter, I wouldn't mind having shoes like hers in your collection of photos. Those I'd definitely wear!

I was surprised at the picture of her standing with Susman. The Queen looks short next to Michelle.

She also looks rather frail. But then she takes her position very seriously as a religious vow. Not many would submit to having that crown on your head as a fixture of British symbolism.

I would not want to be her or her family living in a fishbowl. Thanks, Kadie, for more great pics.

Enquiring minds want to know: just what does Queen Elizabeth carry in that purse? As it turns out, there is more to the royal purse than its meager contents. It doubles as a signal device. When the Queen is carrying out her royal duties at some function, she uses her purse to communicate with her servants. When she shifts the bag from one arm to another, for instance, it means she’s ready to leave. When at a banquet, if the Queen sets her purse on the floor, it’s another bad sign. She finds the conversation boring and wants to escape. However, if the royal bag dangles happily from the crook of her left arm, she is happy and relaxed. (2)

One thing that can always be found inside the Queen’s purse is an S-shaped metal meat hook that she can place on the edge of a piece of furniture and hang her purse on it. She always carries a metal make-up case given to her by Prince Philip as a wedding gift. She carries a collection of good luck charms, most of them gifts from her children, including dogs, horses, saddles, and horsewhips, reports the Daily Express, and photos of her children. She is never without her mints, chocolate drops for her corgi dogs, and a crossword or two snipped from the papers by her attendants.

Majesty magazine reports that the Queen carries a comb, a handkerchief, a small gold compact and a tube of lipstick in her handbag. On Sundays, she carries paper money to place in the collection plate at church.

Her purse is light weight because she may have to stand for a rather long time at public events. Her purse always has a comb, powder compact and lipstick because she wants to spruce up if there's several events on the same day. And ... a safety pin, which is something her Mother taught her to always carry.

Apparently, the Queen does carry money, but a lot of people think she doesn't, but apparently, she . . . for Sundays, she always has money, in unspecified denominations, folded in her handbag there. And also she has a comb, apparently, a handkerchief, a small gold compact, and a tube of lipstick.

Maybe she gets upset if she carries a fiver, saying [forlornly], "Oh, God. I used to be so pretty!"

I have nothing against Laura Bush, but you have to admit, she was never under such a bright spotlight. We not only have a biracial president, we also have a black First Lady (no other way to spin it!). The right wing had to dig to find something to criticize her with and she was said to be demonizing obese children, and how dare she tell parents what to feed their kids!

Michelle Obama's popularity thrills me to pieces. I also think she represented our country well in the UK, and typically does when she goes abroad.

All I can hope from this is that it gives a boost to Obama's fundraising efforts. But I'm afraid that the rest of the world is too financially strapped to throw money at American politics.

Other than that, dear vlyons, I would not vent on her. Whatever that means. But I think I would cut some air vents in her clothes that forever looked like the drapes Scarlett cut down to fool Rhett.

In a tongue in cheek way I apologize to you. I can't abide Laura Bush, her drugged appearance, or her vacuous smile. And I think as first lady she was about as effective as a slammed door in the face of a beggar.

The silhouette is great, styling, concept, fabrics, all OK.

The neckline is wretched! And the cap sleeves, which FLOTUS has absolutely rocked in other outfits, are a disaster! They make her 100% perfect arms look flabby. No dress should ever be allowed to do that!

The top she wore earlier in the day, looked awesome! How about this neck and sleeveless, on the white and silver dress?

and Michelle Obama appears very comfrotable in it... I met her at the White House and from watching her otherwise, I don't think she is one willing to dress in uncomfortable clothing...

"For the royal reception, Mrs. Obama wore a white viscose techno crepe tailored jacket with overlapped side panels and silver embroidery from the J. Mendel 2013 Resort collection, along with a J. they should find a different line of work. They could design bed sheets or bath towels or toilet tissue, things no one sees but the owner.

I can count on one hand the number of times the First Lady has worn something so unbecoming. If Obamabots can not even except the fact that maybe 5 times, Michelle Obama wore a less than perfect dress, well, shouldn't you be spending your time on more important discussions?

Go excoriate someone for wanting the Public Option, or berate someone who questions the appointment of Tim Geithner. Your blind devotion is wasted on the defense of party dresses.
