They are likely to get a sternly worded letter from the IOC on the use of Olympic symbols in advertising.

That aside, the ad seems to mock the Olympics, which despite the orgy of commercialism it has become, a lot of people like.

It reminds people of his management of the Olympics which, arguably, counts as diplomatic/foreign experience of some kind.

It disses a bunch of countries with whom we are friendly. "Those Swiss really know how to keep a secret." We don't have a beef with the Swiss, we have an issue with Romney keeping his money there. We also have a lot of Americans of Indian and Chinese heritage, and the spot uses the image of those countries athletes, of whom they are proud, again to make a mockery of them.

The point is well taken, but the execution can be seen as insensitive and off-putting.
