There hasn't been a vote for 3½ years, but all of a sudden, there will be one after the sit-in.

Dems win this round.

Not because it doesn't make sense or because its a bad idea but because I think its a trap they are baiting the Democrats with in Congress to support it so they can use it for the next 2+ years against them not to mention even it were to pass I believe that SCOTUS would likely rule it unconstitutional and then the Republicans will be happy little boys and girls and beat the Democrats over the head with it for at least the next 2 to 4 election cycles.

That is what was said.

Here is what they didn't tell us
"... and that bill will not only keep terrorists from buying guns, but
it will also gut funding for Planned Parenthood, and you'll have to agree
to let the confederate flag fly at cemeteries throughout the country."

I'm sure there will be more.
So when the Democrats vote against it, they can say
"See, they really don't care if terrorists can buy guns."

it will go along party lines, with maybe a few crossovers, and the Democrats will lose. Voting against expanded background checks didn't hurt the Republicans after Newtown.

as opposing reasonable background checks close to the election. Newtown was a month after the 2012 elections, so it was another 2 years before there was a national vote.

The house Dems are actually sane and you can legislate a country listening to them, while his own party is *ing nuts and can't possibly even pass a budget without it turning into a stink burger.

Two words to that: bull shit

You know what? Ryan can 'not tolerate' all he wants. The fact he's willing to have the one vote means two things to me: 1) civil disobedience STILL works just fine - certainly has gotten under Ryan's skin, and 2) if he caved on the no fly no buy then we need to keep up the pressure for a vote on background checks.

We're making progress here, guys!

My cynical money says there will be plenty of pork pie and some nasty stuff attached to that bill.

I hope what's in the pipeline is actually a clean bill that doesn't kiss me on one cheek and bite me on the other.

Political Charades

The free air television did not carry this ‘sit in’ when it started. I don’t know if cable did, I don’t have cable, MSNBC, or CNN, FOX, etc. And don’t listen to hate radio anymore.

Yet within simple showing of free air seems the issue dissipated to a vote.

Are these politico people bating Americans to sit in? Yet, political people don’t get arrested. Consider if those were citizens in the halls of Congress sitting in. A citizen would get arrested. Go on record as a dissident.

Just the other day the news broadcast a large Republicans line up in the Capital steps. Supporters of the Benghazi, Republican Report on Hillary Clinton, shaming her for poor leadership. They can stand on the steps of Congress and say a story that likely is not true.

Yet within seconds after that grandstanding scolding Hillary for poor administrative leadership, a broadcast about actions of a terrorist bomber is broadcast killing fifty innocent victims.

What does it take to connect the dots that an embedded terrorist is likely what caused Benghazi, here the Republicans show with political bias and the media show with oops the crazy possibilities America is dealing in this Islamic new millennium culture of hate based jihad.

has a ring to it doesn't it Eddie
"Sgt of Arms" of Congress

You do realize there Eddie, that on average per day 88 people are killed with gun in this country, it doesn't matter if its outright murder, suicide, are accidental, a gun was still used-------------------

And what is really amazing there Eddie, you and your right wing bunch voted at 2:00 AM over the words being yelled out by the brave men and women of the Democratic party sitting on the floor saying "Shame on You", to let financial advisor's screw people that invest with them knowing that these financial advisors can outright lie-----------------and you have the audacity to whine about a sit-in, when people are being murdered, that vote at that hour showed your lack of morality and compassion

Honk----------------------for a political revolution
