DEMOCRATIC underground. This site was created to promote and help elect DEMOCRATS.

If you want to promote and help elect greens, build Green Underground.

Did she say that maybe Bernie could try to change the rules at the convention? If so, what convention? The Green Party Convention? If she meant the Democratic Convention, what would give the Green Party the right to change any rules at all? A bit presumptuous. (This is not a comment on her qualifications. I know very little about her.)

you had to follow certain rules and I don't think that Jill can change her name to Bernie Sanders. He would have to follow rules that say he would not be allowed on the ballot of several states, because he is too late in the filing process. But hey, maybe Greens have a different rule they can follow.

39. No, they'd be following the same rules.

For example, Clinton isn't on any ballots yet because she's not officially the Dem nominee. Same with Trump, actually. Most states preserve party slots that are filled by the official nominee.

If Sanders were to be nominated by the Green party (not going to happen: he'd turn it down), he'd have ballot access in those states where the Green party has ballot access. It's never going to happen, but if he accepted the Green party nomination he could realistically have access to the ballot in most states. Here are the ones he'd almost certainly lose out on:

Georgia
North Carolina
Indiana
Oklahoma
North Dakota
Montana

Probably another couple as well would have failed ballot access campaigns.

That said, Sanders is not and will not run as a third-party candidate. But he COULD, if he wanted to, thanks to the Green Party.

Honestly, she says a lot of dumb (for lack of a better term) things. In my eyes she isn't ready to be President. I always support Democrats and will continue to do so.

by default.
It's what The Owners and its willing millions of sycophants embrace.

300+ million people, and two parties.

No worries; the U.S. will continue its comforting embrace of Groundhog Day (the precept of the movie).

Senator Sanders has always written his own ticket from what I read. He promised he would not run third party. I believe him.

If we want door number 3, we must build the house from the ground up. This takes decades. Immediate gratification will not win the future. It will require hard work and dedication. If you are in it for the long term, start building. As always, just my opinion

this only makes sense, to me, as an initial appeal to Sanders' supporters in the long run. As far as influencing anyone else(especially Sanders himself) it seems very remote. Makes sense to say it not actually do it especially after the last unhelpful experience handing things over to Nader- even with the argument it will be better this time.

America has never been in poorer shape with third party options in a year that actually dares someone try. Much overdue for a shift because of the tilt of both parties- and the mediocrity and poor politics.

In at least one important aspect, Stein is the bigger fraud. Trump at least has a chance to be President. So, his donors are buying into a possibility.

In that crucial respect, Stein is a bigger fraud than Trump.
