Flyboard Air sets world record for farthest hoverboard flight

Franky Zapata sets a new Guinness World Record for farthest hoverboard flight, after flying his Flyboard Air for a distance of 2,252 meters at an event in Sausset-les-Pins, France. Footage provided by Zapata Racing.

but with computers able to control most of the fine adjustments it is now possible to do this.

of an accidental powered downward flight. thats why he is flying over water.

pretty much impossible, so they are not really meant for air travel. Fun definitely, but...

OTOH, quadcopters are able to right themselves and could make an extremely versatile transportation platform.

We're starting to see electric airplanes moving into the realm of practical and less as curiosities. I think hybrids make the most sense in that context.

its still hard to concentrate enough energy into batteries for human-bearing rotorcraft.
