Hillary Clinton was asked during the second democratic debate about her Wall Street ties, and her response isnt sitting well with Democratic voters. Using an old staple of the Republican Party, Hillary defended her ties to the criminals on Wall Street by invoking 9/11.
Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(9,148 posts)The facts are more like this statement (in part) from your guy bernie:
"Later in the debate Bernie Sanders agreed: I applaud Secretary Clinton. She did. She's the senator from New York. She worked and many of us supported you in trying to rebuild that devastation.
The Beltway pundit class did not approve of Hillarys answer, exposing the always lurking media antipathy toward her, the constant search for a scandal. Politico chief political correspondent Glenn Thrush (a veteran reporter we know and like) went so far as to label the former U.S. Senator and Secretary of States words cray cray. We do not believe Glenn would use the same language against, for arguments sake, President Obama.
Furthermore, as Bernie Sanders explicitly agreed, her remarks were accurate. Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta noted after the debate: "When people attack her and call her quote-unquote the 'Senator from Wall Street,' they ought to remember that she was instrumental in trying to rebuild an important part of the New York economy."
Indeed they should because in some ways helping to rebuild lower Manhattan and defending a crippled New York City economy against cuts in post-9/11 aid demanded by right wing Republicans was a defining moment in the newly-elected senators career. And Hillary did it without grandstanding; she simply dug in and fought for New York.... "

(1,370 posts)"Why candidates who receive large sums of money from Wall Street should be trusted to regulate it".. Should be asked by every Democrat who is thinking about voting for Hillary Clinton.. In fact the question that really needs to be asked is.. When did protecting Wall Street banks that have become so big they can collapse our economy become a policy of a potential Democratic President??
And what was really tasteless was evoking the attack on 9/11 as a way to avoid directly answering the question...

(2,672 posts)Hillary coddling up to Wall St. is on the record. And no amount of spin is going to change that fact.
What is it with facts and truth that bothers her supporters so much. Going so far as to claim facts and truth are smears and lies.
The simple fact is that Hillary invoked 9/11 in protection of her Wall St. ties.
