"Deer Hunting With Jesus": Lost in America-Those Forgotten People We "Lib Dems" Love to Hate/PTS 1&2

LONGVIEW: Deer Hunting With Jesus

Uploaded on Dec 17, 2008

Much has been said about white working-class voters. But those who've been doing all the talking are pollsters and political operatives. As part of our Long View series, ANP traveled to rural Virginia to talk to someone who's lived the life and knows from personal experience what those voters are thinking -- author Joe Bageant. His highly-acclaimed recent book, Deer Hunting With Jesus, was lauded by one reviewer as a "raging, hilarious, and profane love song to the great American redneck." In addition to being that, it's also one of the most prescient pieces of analysis about American politics and culture in this election year.

Obama talked about it but was forced to appoint a Goldman Sachs cabinet.

Something tells me that would happen with just about any new president for the time being.

We're going to need another complete meltdown before this changes.

The sad part is that it's coming.

They can't even stand up against some dumb white McTurds (or they are in cahoots with the degenerates.)

A meltdown may occur. Perhaps through intentional social unrest or more likely through the inability of people to live.

THEY better stop us from being able to organize. Close the internets. Monitor all phones. Stop peoples on the hiways. Bust into homes just to show they can.

Thanks, US Constitution and all the signers. You're history!

In the first video he says the people have this "I don't need any help...I don't want no give-aways" attitude, but in the second he says they are angry that we haven't done enough for them, while we are trying to reach a level of security for ourselves. So we need to stop taking care of our own futures and spend that money on them? But isn't that just a giveaway?

Instead of letting banks use our money to get rich on, we need to screw 401K's, as that money is just labor stolen off the backs of the poor hard working folk (which I agree with) and invest in a better SS system so that all people can retire with dignity. And we need to single payer so everyone has health care, and we need free college education so some of those poor rednecks, along with POC and other poor in this country, can try to keep up with the monied classes and compete for jobs. If the economic divide keeps going the way it is, we will never keep up with the rich. But because we are despised as the "middle class", they won't vote for us, so forget all the social programs that we want to implement.

It seems they are all for global trade practices that send the good jobs to other countries so everyone can buy cheap crap at Wal-Mart, and the rest of us drop down to minimum wage and no job security, until we are all the same?

It seems like we are damned if we do and damned if we don't.

How the hell do you fix a system like this?
