we used during the cold war to get back to rational policy discussions.

This is another excellent discussion by experts (former State Department professionals etc) discussing policy and dealing with the region.

The IMF is part of the Economic Hitman network. It does the destruction, not the reconstruction, to benefit TPTB....which is not you nor I nor the Ukrainian people.

Arguing from a false statement is a waste of time and energy...unless propaganda is the point.

This link to a (rather long read) thread in 'Good Reads' explains the grand strategy - which is Brzezinskiesque and relates to fundamental theories of geo-politics: Mackinder's heartland theory: in my own words - who rules the heartland rules the world....

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1016124284

The goal isn't really Ukraine for Ukraine's sake (are you kidding?) - the goal is to control the heartland vis a vis controlling China's sudden rise in power (geo-strategic, economic, etc.)...

The problem is - the planet's natural health can no longer withstand the traumas inflicted upon it by militarism and capitalism...We no longer should be thinking of state relationships in terms of hierarchical orders - the countries of the world should work together to solve some of the planet's most formidable challenges.

newthinking. The Ukraine situation has been very poorly understood by me. I havent known quite what to think.

This helps me gain more perspective to frame my internal debates.

Yes, its a clusterfuck in there.
