The Most Important Thing to Remember When Watching This Video: Keep Breathing!

http://blog.therainforestsite.com/mountain-goat-river/

Mountain goats are the most sure-footed creatures on the planet. Their sharp hooves allow them to easily scale cliffs and mountainsides — but hooves aren’t much use when they need to cross a treacherous mountain river.

Experienced goats can cross river rapids with ease, but for a mountain kid, traversing whitecaps can be a frightful endeavor.

Watch the video to see a brave young mountain goat crossing his very first river.

are actually from the antelope group/family and have rather leathery pads that help them traverse the amazing rock walls they seem to like. It sure helps them stay away from humans. We have some in my area and they are often found next to a river. This is interesting, I didn't know they swim in rushing whitewater like that.

Pretty amazing animals, and beautiful too.

They are extremely good on rocks and cliffs, of course, but nonetheless the leading cause of death is not predation or lack of food, but falls. A broken leg soon leads to death.
