(65,340 posts)Could you maybe help us out here and tell us what you hear on that 911 call, because I can't hear anything but "Squawk, squawk, squeech!"
A brief summary of the general import of the call would be helpful to those of us with hearing loss.

(24,721 posts)Apparently, a security detail called "The Rangers" who worked at the apartments where Dante lived with his fiance had a vendetta against him. He was surrounded in his car by security guards within sight of his neighbors, who witnessed them demanding Dante get out of his car. Dante wanted desperately to leave & they wouldn't allow him to leave.
Due to previous harassment, Dante was afraid to get out of the car & he was anticipating the Dayton police to arrive to help him -- his only option, since he was not allowed to leave. At one point, Dante turned on his car, then a security guard reached in to turn it off. This was repeated two more times, before Dante managed to drive slowly away. This was when one of the security guards shot three times into the windshield. Following that, other security guards followed alongside the car shooting their weapons at Dante. There were approximately 22 shots total, according to witnesses.
The car caught on fire with Dante still inside & the guards didn't try to get him out.
The last witness who spoke to the commission said that he had trouble with these security guards, also. He was told by one of them that he was "on (their) list" & that they were going to "kill him". His children were terrified for him to leave the house at any time; the family, as well as other residents, were so intimidated they felt like prisoners in their own home. He said his wife was once questioned about someone the security guards were looking for, & because she didn't know the person, she was called a "b****" & a "wh***".
The security guards carry assault weapons & several witnesses said they peek inside residents' doors & windows.
Unbelievable.

(24,721 posts)I can't help blaming Bush's wild-west attitude & the Patriot Act for this type of abuse against citizens. These residents are treated as though they're living in a cell block.
