TYT: Strong Words From The Latest Sane Person Run Out Of The Republican Party

"A former Florida state representative and Republican activist has left the GOP over immigration policy.

Ana Rivas Logan will officially become a Democrat Monday afternoon when she files paperwork at the Miami-Dade Elections Department.

Rivas Logan, an educator who was born in Nicaragua after her parents fled Cuba, said one of the reasons she is switching parties is because she was pressured by current Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera to support an Arizona-style immigration law when it surfaced in Florida in 2011."* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Now the question is, what is going to happen to the Democratic Party now that all these Republicans are coming in? I don't like what I'm thinking.

I just can't suppress my suspicions that these folks crossing over are being coached on what to say to appear sane and reasonable to be elected to continue the the GOPs dismantling of all social gains.

I trust these people almost as far as I can throw an 18 wheeler.

It sure as hell IS the party she joined.

She was born in 1961. By the time she could vote and become a member of any party, her preferred party was already established as "a party that attacks women and minorities...".

The infection of the Democratic Party by these liars is a malignancy that will ultimately destroy it. And that is the strategy.

. . . Although, as someone also born in 1961 to Republican parents, I agree with her that it s no longer the party of her, or my, parents.

It would not be below the GOP to run the following game plan.....
In a safe district, primary a Teapublican with an outright flaming nuts as all hell Teabagger.
Repackage the Teapublican as a moderate Democrat and throw money at it.
At best you get a blue dog.
At worst, you think you have bought LBJ. When you open the box, surprise, Surprise. It's Ted Cruz.

Stone me if ya gotta. I give no trust or suffer no love for anything GOP.

Another less cynical, and IMO more likely, scenario is that at least some of these people abandoning the teapublican party have had a come-to-Jesus moment and decided that it's not cool nor proper to discriminate, hate, and promote policy that enriches the 1%.
