Frankly, I use youtube. See someone do it once, keep a reference around for torque values and tools, and I'm good to go.
Manuals, even the dealership/in-house mechanic manuals suck compared to seeing someone do it once.

No more need for that pesky automotive training school! Hire anyone off the street, give 'em glasses, and pay them minimum wage.

3d printers will change how things are made and how factories work.
Who would have thought that modern manufacturing could be done without a factory? Since the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing has been synonymous with factories, machine tools, production lines and economies of scale. So it is startling to think about manufacturing without tooling, assembly lines or supply chains. However, that is what is emerging as 3D printing takes hold.
