Frankly, I use youtube. See someone do it once, keep a reference around for torque values and tools, and I'm good to go.

Manuals, even the dealership/in-house mechanic manuals suck compared to seeing someone do it once.

No more need for that pesky automotive training school! Hire anyone off the street, give 'em glasses, and pay them minimum wage.

We're in the middle of amazing times.

3d printers will change how things are made and how factories work.

Who would have thought that modern manufacturing could be done without a factory? Since the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing has been synonymous with factories, machine tools, production lines and economies of scale. So it is startling to think about manufacturing without tooling, assembly lines or supply chains. However, that is what is emerging as 3D printing takes hold.

UAV's will replace pilots, and eventually drivers.

FedEx founder Fred Smith came by the Wired offices yesterday for a chat on a range of things, but I'll focus here on the bit relevant to this site. He says that they'd like to switch their fleet to UAVs as soon as possible

Right this momement there are thousands of automated DNA sequencers and automated tools for synthesizing DNA creating combinations of DNA, that will someday create an evolutionary leap or disaster.

It's all happening at light speed, faster than our ethicist or society can digest.
