Trump's revenge plot remains hidden in plain sight

(Salon) During a rally last Saturday in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, the last such event before his criminal trial began on Monday in Manhattan, Donald Trump displayed his authoritarian and fascist behavior and beliefs to the extreme. He continued to preach his Big Lie about the 2020 election being stolen from him, claimed he is being persecuted and tried to intimidate the judges, prosecutors, and other members of law enforcement working to hold him accountable for his actions. Trump, a master propagandist, used the classic tactic of projection, accusing President Biden of being a demented tyrant and the real enemy of democracy who would destroy the country if re-elected.
This election is a choice between the Biden-fascist state or the American republic," he told his MAGA crowd.
....(snip)....
Trump told his thousands of followers gathered before him that he wants the power to determine when presidential elections (and presumably other elections) take place. Trump is literally reading a page from the dictators playbook. At the end of his speech in Pennsylvania, Trump, channeling Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, reached a crescendo by threatening those Americans a group he has previously targeted as vermin and traitors who are poisoning the blood of the nation:
Together we are taking on some of the most menacing forces and vicious opponents our people have ever seen. They are vicious and they are horrible. But no matter how hateful and corrupt the communists and criminals were fighting against may be, you must never forget this nation does not belong to them. This nation belongs to you. This is your home. This is your heritage. And our American liberty is your God-given right. Your God-given right.
From Harrisburg to Pittsburgh, from Easton to Bethlehem, and from Johnstown to Allentown, we stand on the shoulders of American legends, who poured out their blood, sweat and tears, for our rights and for our freedoms. And its been a very rough period of time. Ill tell you what, for this country. Its never had. I dont think our country has ever been so low, but were going to change it. Were going to get numbers like nobodys ever seen. I think were going to swamp them. And this isnt drain the swamp. This is were going to swamp them. Were also going to drain the swamp. Its a double swamp.
....(snip)....
The message of Trumps eclipse video is rather obvious: he is a type of God and prophet or messiah on Earth, an Ozymandias figure of sorts, whose powers are greater than the sun and such fundamental forces as gravity and the movement of the stars and planets. As some of the countrys leading mental health professionals have repeatedly warned, Donald Trump appears to actually believe in such delusions and absurdities. Based on their behavior, the MAGA political cultists also appear to be believe that their Dear Leader has such superpowers.
Donald Trump wants to be worshipped; his followers want to worship him; this should terrify any reasonable and thinking person in the United States who values their freedom and safety, and that of their loved ones and other people they care about. ............(more)

(47,560 posts)especially because he isn't really very good at this. His message is poorly delivered and barely coherent. He rambles on and on, often mispronouncing simple words and rarely making sense. Yet people still follow him.
if you're really watching, you'll see people leave his rallies early. He's had numerous ones with low attendance.,
A couple days ago one was posted with the guy to his left openly yawning and his friend was trying to lay his/her head on his shoulder so they could sleep.
Instead of "rallies," I now call them "reallies?."

(47,560 posts)behind Trump and I must say, most of them do look really bored. I don't think they care all that much about him or what he's saying, they like being part of whatever the hell these rallies are. They've found their tribe I suppose.
Still for a lot of them, they go to a lot of trouble to attend these freak shows. There are plenty of other more interesting things they could be doing with their time - attend a sporting event, go out to eat, go to the movies, go fishing, watch paint dry.

My dearest MAGAt, come closer to Donnie so I can whisper
Sweet words of epismetology in your ear and speak to you of
The pompitous of love. Even though our road is rough and
Long, for you to leave me at this time, MAGAt darling, must surely
Be wrong. So come back and reconsider one more thing. Donnie

(19,204 posts)That's not hyperbole, either. He's an evil, divisive and destructive man, capable of Hitler's worst inclinations, or even more deplorable.
And his MAGAts adore him. They probably dream of running concentration camps, of being the very tools Hitler used to carry out his "final solution." Only they won't stop at Jewish people. They're only limited by anyone who isn't exactly like them, and that equates to about 65% of Americans.
Everyone should fear Mango Mussolini and his cult. His talk of "retribution" is real. And his cult cries out for blood. These people are sick, and given the chance they'll carry out Trump's darkest wishes. Believe it.

(2,065 posts)My sister, who introduced me to DU, calls Trump Cheetolini. And the basic time frame for Hitler reincarnating as Trump fits - Hitler commits suicide at the end of April 1945 and Cheetolini is born in June of 1946, giving him a little over a year to hang our in the astral world before reincarnating. Now the next step for me would be to compare the natal astrology charts of both Hitler and Trump, to see if I can find an abundance of similar planetary configurations or planetary signatures linking the two charts, especially those suggesting a cause and effect relationship. Ethnically speaking, both Trump and Hitler have a German family background.
It would indeed be one of the great ironies of history if the United States, having fought so hard to defeat fascism in World War II, finally succumbed to the very fascism it fought against when the dreaded dictator was reborn as an American citizen, one of their own.

(19,204 posts)allegorical than literal, but I'm not one to argue the legitimacy of Trump's evilness.
He's every bloodthirsty, heartless, cruel, soulless son-of-a-bitch rolled into one.
Take care.

(2,596 posts)The character was two bit drunk who was dragged out of the drunk tank and hired to be on a radio program...
He was a nasty, narcissistic megalomaniac who managed to hide (for a while) most of his most reprehensible tendencies, but by the end of the movie people were falling away from him. That's what is happening with TFG. More and more, as he becomes more and more incomprehensible and keeps tossing word salads around onstage, people are drifting away. He is by no means "a master propagandist" as Salon extols, but more like those holy rollers you see on street corners in busy cities preaching to the passersby who are trying to get out of hearing range of their curbside sermons.
Don't get me wrong. I don't take him lightly. I (sadly) have lived in Texas all my life and I've always known (and known some of those folks) who would be happy to sign back into the Confederate Army if they were allowed to do so. I've never taken the likes of the George Wallaces or the northern versions of their ilk like TFG lightly. They can and have done a great deal of harm and the pendulum swings back and forth routinely in life. We make progress for a while, but it's inevitable that there's a backlash that takes time to undo. But I feel like there's the beginnings of a changing sentiment with respect to this despicable cretin megaphone mouth, and the more incoherent his rants become the more he's going through the great unraveling and people are beginning to see. He will always have a contingent following but they're beginning to dwindle (and die).
