naturally leave off.

Can you explain why so many European countries are likely to sign the agreement, and have signed similar ones in the past? Are all the European countries corrupt, or could they be doing what they think is best for their people long-term?

It may not be 'corrupt', but it's not for the long-term interest of 'the people', either. An increasing GDP figure gets you votes; a decreasing Gini index doesn't. So they look for short-term economic growth to get re-elected.

3. I don't know, if we want to be fed, have jobs, increase tax revenue, etc.,

in a world with too many people, lots of problems, etc., we better hope corporations do well. The little farmer, and store owner ain't gonna cut it. I do think we need more regulation, tougher consequences for wrong doing, etc., while we tax the he'll out of them. We also need more socially conscious corporate leaders.
