2. We've pretty much admitted that they have the drone.

The one that they're showing may be fake, though.

3. Silly conspiracy theories when the president has already asked for it back.

Not to mention some substantial analysis of the situation and the photos/video at The Aviationist:

7. To keep up the idea that it's real

If it were fake, what good would revealing that be? For starters, the military would have to disclose facts about a real drone that perhaps they'd rather keep secret.

I'll admit, this post has made me think.

10. Actually, why would he ask for it back if it were real?

That seemed goofy and inexplicable to me. Please, Iran, give us back our drone. Of course they're not going to, so why make ourselves look weak? I don't have any working theory of what's really going on, but the fact that we "asked for it back" just didn't jibe with the notion that Iran had actually captured something so valuable.

9. Flying wing drone is an excellent glider

The aviationist dosnt mention that, and instead clouds the issue with a video of a different vehicle spinning and crashing.

Its kind of silly to try and compare the gliding characteristics of a flying wing to a more conventionally designed aircraft. DAmned silly.

Of course we asked for it back. It'd be a little strange if we didn't, don't you think? We're waiting for them to hook the electronics up to their computers; and no doubt it's wired - probably for a laser-guided thingamajig. Don't 'cha think?

On Edit: I know, a lot of America isn't what it use to be; but, I'll say one thing. America's military I trust to be competent. They continue to impress, IMO, as efficacious. And competent. They would not "lose" or "misplace" a drone without the intent to do so, IMO.

Also, I thought that drones would have a "self destruct" mechanism that would be set off remotely if necessary.

here, imo. I don't know what it is but I trust the US military to be better prepared in and for a situation like this. None of it make sense to me. Well, except republican's reactions. Lol. Bad Obama. Failure Obama.
