Boehner to Obama: Caution, you could 'burn' yourself

Source: CNN

An emboldened House Speaker John Boehner, fresh off Tuesday's midterms when Republicans secured a bigger House majority and a GOP controlled Senate, warned President Barack Obama if he tried to go around Congress and take executive action on immigration he will get "burned."

Speaker Boehner ought to be encouraged to hold public hearings on the ACA in order to investigate Obamacare stories about persons who allegedly lost health care coverage as a result of the law. My hunch is that nearly all of the Obamacare stores will be debunked and there will be hundreds of times more stories about people whose lives have been turned around as a result of having coverage now that they lacked before. Congress also ought to investigate whether people are saving money for health care under the new law, compared to what they spent before January 1.

Boner and the GOPers will make a great show this before they try to weaken the law, and to hell with the American public.

In fact I believe I'll email my new tea-bag Senator and tell him I think it would be a good idea to do away with the ACA - just as long as they leave alone the parts that keep insurance companies from discriminating against pre-existing conditions, allows kids to stay on their parents plan until age 25, provides for free checkups, allows people to find affordable plans on the exchange, etc. etc. (And I imagine if they try to do away with the mandate that a lot of deep pockets in the insurance industry will suddenly dry up, so that won't get touched either.)

was made into a big freaking issue. I personally know a few republicans who despise Obamacare for various reasons, none of which would be an issue if they actually looked into taking advantage of the available benefits. They'd rather pay more for less than admit that Obama's government has done something right. It's frustrating as hell.

Do what we want you to do and shut up, Obama.

The president came out yesterday with a wonderful presser, congenial and fought at the same time, and right out the gate we get this BS.

I don't think it will Obama that gets burned with an executive action. He's going to do this. IT will be up to them to make it law. If they don;t -- it will be really interesting.

They were like a trio of roosters trying to outcrow each other this week.

With his speech, Obama let us know he is not going to kiss Republican ass. McConnell's speech was to get Ted Cruz whipped into line by saying no government shut downs. And Boehner preserves his power by dangling fighting words to the nutjobs he is in charge of.
