Midterm Election 2014 Results: GOP Will Retain Control of the House
Source: ABC NEWS
ABC News projects that Republicans will retain majority control of the House of Representatives. Now, the question becomes how big that majority will grow.
As of 10:35 p.m. ET, ABC News had projected that Republicans had won 206 seats in the House to 128 for Democrats. A party needs 218 seats to hold a majority.
While majority control of the Senate has been the primary point of discussion through the midterm elections, President Obama could face the largest House majority since the Great Depression if Republicans win a net-gain of 13 seats in the lower chamber today.
House Republicans are all but assured of adding to their current 34-seat majority, possibly diminishing some of the power of a conservative wing of lawmakers who have challenged House Speaker John Boehner's leadership on issues like health care, immigration reform and government spending.

I wonder how long before Obama invites the incoming Republicans to an ass kissing session to help him form future policy...

(2,692 posts)Most voters...just did not see a difference in their lives. The Dems promised liberal heaven, but gave us compromise time and time again. The economy improved, but only the rich got richer. The majority of older middle class people saw their retirement money gone, their debt to credit cards become insurmountable and their future frittered away by a president with no fire in his belly. Instead of going toe to toe when he had the advantage he reached out to the conservatives and gave away the farm. I see death and destruction in far off lands funded by money that should have been spent on my children's future.
There is a failure here...but not many want to face that.
