Ferguson police chief apologizes to Michael Brown's parents

Source: CNN

Ferguson, Missouri, Police Chief Thomas Jackson issued a video apology Thursday to the parents of Michael Brown, as well as to any peaceful protesters who feel he didn't do "enough to protect their constitutional right to protest."

Specifically, he apologized that it took investigating officers four hours to remove Brown's body from the street after Officer Darren Wilson fatally shot him last month.

"I'm truly sorry for the loss of your son. I'm also sorry that it took so long to remove Michael from the street," he said.

While investigators were doing important work, trying to uncover the truth and collect evidence during those four hours, "it was just too long, and I'm truly sorry for that," Jackson said.

Actually, it was an assumption that it was stolen. It shows him grabbing the cigarillos out of the hand of another customer then giving the smaller man a chest bump. A different video at the cash register showed Brown handing the cigarillos to his friend while he dug in his pocket for the money to pay for the purchase. The crime: horsing around with a friend.

more like trying to figure out how to make it look like it wasn't murder.

I think this guy and the whole department are going down. And good riddance.

They have the DOJ on their case. Sounds like they will find many issues with this department, as per the article in the OP. A nearby community had their police department taken down, so it's not like it has never happened.

we'll see. Yet, I hate to be so pessimistic, but this society does does not engender optimism in me. But, people like you keep the lights on, so darkness doesn't seem so ominous.
