Islamic Jihad Said to Have Iranian 'Judgement Day' Missile

According to sources in Gaza, the weapon is an Iranian-made Zelzal, an unguided missile that can carry a payload of up to 600 kg (1,323 pounds) of explosives for a distance of up to 200 kilometers. Speaking to the Donia Alwattan news site, the sources, which claim to be close to Islamic Jihad, did not say how many such missiles the terror group had, adding that this is their 'judgement day' weapon.
Reports in the past have said that Iran had supplied these missiles to Hebollah as far back as 2006, but they were apparently not used during the Second Lebanon War, Israeli officials said. The Zelzal missiles could be deflected or neutralized by the Patriot missile system, or Israel's own Arrow protection system.
Earlier Sunday, a report in the British newspaper The Telegraph said that Hamas had signed an arms deal with North Korea in order to replenish its depleted rocket arsenal, after thousands were either fired at Israeli civilians or destroyed in IDF strikes in recent weeks. The report cited senior security sources who claimed that the deal, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, had already been signed, having been made via Lebanese intermediaries. Hamas has reportedly made an initial down payment in cash to Pyongyang, and is hoping for an imminent delivery to Gaza.
According to Israeli intelligence sources, North Korea has been providing other forms of aid to Hamas as well. North Korean experts are believed to have played a crucial role in helping Hamas build its vast network of "terror tunnels", designed to enable deadly infiltration attacks into Israel, based on the model of the authoritarian state's own complex tunnel network under the Demilitarized Zone with South Korea - believed to be the most sophisticated such network in the world.

I've watched the situation since 1952. Palestine just messes up over and over. I would not expect it to change its record now. It's really sad for the Palestinian people.

(5,169 posts)"A similarly cavalier approach to child labor and tunnel fatalities damaged the movements standing with human-rights groups, despite government assurances dating back to 2008 that it was considering curbs. During a police patrol that the author was permitted to accompany in December 2011, nothing was done to impede the use of children in the tunnels, where, much as in Victorian coal mines, they are prized for their nimble bodies. At least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials. Safety controls on imports appear similarly lax, although the TAC insists that a sixteen-man contingent carries out sporadic spot-checks."

The report does say "At least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials". Is the report wrong?
Is it that children are NOT being used for digging tunnels, they are not dying from digging tunnels, there were some children dying digging tunnels, but less than 160, or it does not matter because Likud are ratfuckers so Hamas can do whatever it wants?

(60 posts)Why did they attacked the USS liberty?
One of the best intelligence agencies in the world couldn't figure out what ship they were attacking ?
As if these ships are similar

(10,650 posts)The attack on the USS Liberty was no mistake. It was intentional. It was murder of American servicemen. It was done by Israel. It was swept under the rug as are all Israeli outrages.

I favor a two-state solution and peace.
I'm with Obama and Kerry on that.

(10,650 posts)Remember the WMD's in Iraq? Israeli intelligence was sure Saddam had them. Israeli intelligence was sure the humanitarian flotilla to Gaza was carrying a large cache of weapons. They weren't. Israeli intelligence makes all sorts of claims against Iran, particularly Iran's nuclear capability. None have proven true.
They often overstate the threat to get the US involved in carrying out Israeli foreign policy objectives. Whether this missile deal is true or not, the US should stay out of it.
Iran is always 6 month away from having a nuclear bomb. Those guys predicting will one day get it right and then they will say "I told you so". Hopefully, I will be still be alive to see that day

Just like all those suitcase nukes that Al Qaeda smuggled into the US from Chechnya over a decade ago (according to World News Daily and Sen. Tancredo)

Israel National News? "According to sources..." and "Israeli sources say?" In the same article which mentions an "Islamic Jihad Judgement Day" missile in the possession of Hamas in Gaza? And Palestinian youngsters dug the tunnels? Throw in North Korea and Iran for good measure.
Me and my sister could go over there and blow up those tunnels and not injure a soul. How in the hell did the Palestinians build those tunnels without Israel knowing about it in the first place?
Give. Me. A. Break.

(10,340 posts)I'm surprised they haven't claimed that Hamas possesses several suitcase nukes smuggled in by Chechen rebels.
