Also , take a radio ratings study. Nowadays the survey company (ambatron) nielson ,Others , used paper and many folk would chalk up their fave station. Now ambitron uses a sort of digital recorder that has a automatic mic pickup. when ambatron started this , many radio station ratings went down! including a big radio station in the sanfransisco bay area. callsigns knbr .Ratings are the life blood of radio and tv stations too. The numbers show advertisors how well or not well the radio/tv station is doing This to will hit them where it hurts
