Docs: Dead marathon suspect tied to 2011 killings

Source: Boston.com

BOSTON (AP) — Slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was named as a participant in an earlier triple homicide by a man who was subsequently shot to death while being questioned by authorities, according to a filing made by federal prosecutors in the case against his brother, surviving bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

According to the filing made Monday, Ibragim Todashev told investigators Tamerlan Tsarnaev participated in a triple slaying in Waltham on Sept. 11, 2011.

In that case, three men were found in an apartment with their necks slit and their bodies reportedly covered with marijuana. One of the victims was a boxer and friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Todashev, a 27-year-old mixed martial arts fighter, was fatally shot at his Orlando home during a meeting with an FBI agent and two Massachusetts state troopers in May, authorities said. He had turned violent while being question, according to authorities.

I do wish that FBI would start recording their field interviews, though. It would make for improved transparency. We have the technology.

... strange how authorities, already compelled to cast full blame, are relying on his 'testimony' for use against the only one of the accused now still - not so conveniently - left alive. Without any recordings to back this up, there's a kind of a lingering hearsay issue, no?

Their mercurial, shifting, vague excuses about this shooting plus the evident cover-up is highly suspicious.

It casts doubt on the credibility of every story linked to this episode including the Boston incident.

And the end of it was surreal.
Hope we have nothing like that again.

I just saw Wikipedia has a scary picture of the aftermath (not gruesome...thankful for that)...just thought provoking.
(removed link, just in case someone finds it unlikable)....you can see it on Wiki, though.

Anyway, sorry to step away from the topic at hand, this just made me think back on that numbing day—even though I live thousands of miles away.

Any other unsolved mysteries we want to close the files on? Just blame the dead Chechen.

The Todashev story is all kinds of bullshit too, when one reads the various versions put forth by the FBI.

When I first read about the weed murder, it just felt vindictive to me, the sprinkling of the herb on the dead bodies. That just isn't done. It was a big red flag that the murderer was very anti-drug, and Tamerlan was.

Allegedly Todashev was about to sign a confession before he got aggressive and was killed then by seven shots (which are a matter of fact), one of them in the back of his head. There are about 4 or 5 versions of this story. ACLU is already investigating it.

The filing is only a warm-up of this alleged mouhly confession. The fact that it now pops up in right wing media is only part of the long lasting campaign to throw dirt on the Tsarnaevs. Don't fall into this trap.

Boston.com is the internet venue of the Boston Globe, one of this country's lead newspapers.

Your allegation that this story is part of a campaign to implicate the Tsarnaevs may well be true.
