Rick Santorum still hasn’t provided promised tax returns

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has yet to release his tax returns, despite saying on Sunday that he would do so within a couple of days.

Santorum, who is surging to the top of the polls in the GOP presidential race, was asked in a Jan. 19 debate if he would release his tax returns. Santorum said his tax returns, which he completed himself, were on his home computer. “When I get home, you’ll get my taxes,” he said.

A week later, Santorum’s daughter Bella, who suffers from the serious genetic disorder Trisomy 18, was hospitalized with pneumonia for several days. This Sunday, speaking on ABC’s This Week, Santorum said he never got his taxes out because Bella was hospitalized that weekend. But he said, “We’ve subsequently done that and we’re just running them through the traps to make sure I’ve got all the right papers at the right time. They’ll come out maybe even tomorrow, but certainly in the next couple of days.”

A Santorum spokesman did not respond to emails yesterday asking when Santorum planned to release his tax returns, and the spokesman’s voicemail was full.

6. What is he hiding? For 3 years, Santorum scammed a Pittsburgh school district

into paying (vouchers) for cyberschool for his kids. In 1997, bought a house near his in-laws in Penn Hills so he could claim residency and never lived in it; lived in Virginia. Here's the story:

Even though this article says the Santorums occassionally live in the house, they did not during the time of the school issue.
