National Republican Party seems as divided, angry as ever

BOSTON (AP) — The Republican Party seems as divided and angry as ever.

Infighting has penetrated the highest levels of the House GOP leadership. Long-standing geographic tensions have increased, pitting endangered Northeastern Republicans against their colleagues from other parts of the country. Enraged tea party leaders are threatening to knock off dozens of Republicans who supported a measure that raised taxes on the nation's highest earners.

"People are mad as hell. I'm right there with them," Amy Kremer, chairman of the Tea Party Express, said late last week, declaring that she has "no confidence" in the party her members typically support. Her remarks came after GOP lawmakers agreed to higher taxes but no broad spending cuts as part of a deal to avert the "fiscal cliff."

"Anybody that voted 'yes' in the House should be concerned" about primary challenges in 2014, she said.

Let the party stay the same but make the platform more and more reich-wing radical.

Hopefully they'll all be armed. Maybe as they see the chances of their own demise, they'll learn.

I thought the GOP clowns running to be their presidential candidate was funny. When the GOP clowns go after each other by spilling funny facts about each clown it will be VERY entertaining.

The sad fact that there are still STUPID people who will vote for these clowns is SICK.

Infighting like this only helps the opposition. Look at 2010.

I just hope we learn from this. 2010 got us not only a Republican House, but Republican state legislatures that gerrymandered their states to favor the Republican minority and disproportionately represent them in the House for a long time to come.

While it is never incorrect to say "I'm not voting for my party this time because they are not 100% in synch with me," it is not always pragmatic, either.

Of course, this analysis piece doesn't belong in LBN. Nevertheless,

"People are mad as hell. I'm right there with them," Amy Kremer, chairman of the Tea Party Express, said late last week, declaring that she has "no confidence" in the party her members typically support.

I automatically dismiss any "journalism" that pretends the "Tea Party" is a legitimate group or movement. We're all well aware of "the party her members typically support." How about a little delving into just exactly who "her members" are? Nah, I didn't think so. The AP's subscribing newspapers rely on them for their income.

Would listen to them, in a sane world.

Cable networks will continue to push them, as they did in 2010. Grover has threatened his Tea Party 2 will be bigger than the original FW creation.

They money is still there and the issues haven't changed for them. As I have said several times before, 60 MILLION citizens voted to elect the Romney/Ryan/Ayn Rand team.

And they're still going to be voting. This ain't over.

11. The owners of the republican party are faced with a challenge....

If they can't change the image of the republican party with something more kind and gentle they may be regaled to 'local cult' status. Their current Simon Legree image does not win national elections.
If they don't replace moderate republicans with even more radical, astroturf stinking, foaming at the mouth, tea bagger lap dogs (lap wolfs?) they may loose more of their "free ride".
The first answer is as always, "throw money at it", starting with their well established propaganda machine.
Expect their next tricks to get real nasty.

Party.

They will just shift where they spend their money and the non-liberal and non progressive Democrats will be more then happy to take their money and do their bidding.

They are already doing it now.
